My family and I stayed in Kätkänranta house for a week in March 2025 and WOW… We often travel as a big group of 9 people, and this is the best accommodation we have booked anywhere for a group of our size. The house is so well equipped but, more importantly, Kätkänranta feels like a home-away-from-home. Eating out as group is expensive, so we really appreciated the large kitchen with two dishwashers, plus a big dining table to share meals together. There is lots of space in the lounge to sit around the wood fire, and there are plenty of bathrooms, almost one for every bedroom. The beds are super comfortable, we all slept soundly at the end of each day.

The location of Kätkänranta is absolutely ideal - close enough to the town of Levi to be convenient, yet far enough away to feel secluded. Being just on the outskirts of the town also means uninterrupted views of the northern sky… just a few steps from the house you can view the Northern Lights on the frozen lake directly in front of the house. My family saw them on multiple occasions outside Kätkänranta, and these are memories we will cherish forever.

The inside sauna was very large and in close proximity to the backdoor, which was perfect for rolling in the snow to cool down. But the Sauna Bar (Saunabaari) when it opened was even better – a wood fire sauna with plunges in the sub-zero lake made our time there absolutely unforgettable.

I can’t say enough about a stay at Kätkänranta. I would HIGHLY recommend a stay and hope one day I can return!
