A beautiful resort which made our Finland trip truly memorable. There is no need to chase the auroras if u stay here. We got the best view of the northern lights from our rooms!! And of course you can move out anytime you like for wonderful photography. Food too was good given the remote location..

Simplemente espectacular tanto el entorno en medio del bosque como los alojamientos. Nos alojamos en una de las cabañas de madera y a pesar de estar fuera a -15ºC se estaba muy bien, además teníamos una sauna dentro de la cabaña. Luego está el edificio principal donde dan las cenas y desayunos. También tienen unos iglús acristalados pero nos parecían más pequeños y por la relación precio / espacio nos gustaron más las cabañas. Al anochecer tan pronto aprovechábamos para estar allí, leer junto a la chimenea o charlar antes de salir a ver auroras boreales.

We had an incredible stay at Wilderness Hotel Muotka in November 2019. The location was peaceful and stunning. Perfect for relaxing and experiencing true Lapland.

The staff were super friendly and helpful and the sauna was a great way to warm up after a day in the snow.

This place is a hidden gem—cozy, beautiful, and unforgettable. Highly recommended!

We have visited Muotka several times in winter, it’s just the best place ever! We wanted to see what the surroundings were like without the snow, so planned our visit for “ruska” in autumn when the foliage changes to autumn colours before the snow arrives.|We weren’t disappointed, such a friendly welcome from old faces and some new, and we felt like we were at home. Delighted to get our favourite cabin! Delicious food, beautiful accommodation and friendly, helpful staff.|We really enjoyed exploring the area and visiting places we’d been to in the winter, which looked completely different in September! We also booked a day fat-biking to Kopsusjarvi (where we’d been ice fishing in February), which were really enjoyed with Gytis as our guide.|Our September trip was everything we hoped for and more, and are counting down the days until we go back this winter.

We had an absolutely wonderful stay at Muotka Wilderness Hotel!|The food was delicious and the staff were always friendly, cheerful, and very helpful, creating a warm and welcoming atmosphere throughout our stay. A special mention goes to Anna, the hotel manager, who is exceptionally kind and made us feel truly at home.|We stayed in one of the Aurora Cabins and loved every moment – it was cozy, comfortable, and gave us the amazing opportunity to watch the Northern Lights right from our bed. We feel so lucky to have experienced this unforgettable moment!|Thank you to the whole team at Muotka for making our visit such a memorable and magical experience.

We stayed at Wilderness Hotel Muotka in December 2024 - we travelled from Australia to stay here and it was honestly the best holiday we've ever been on. We've talked about it every single day since then!||We stayed in the Panorama Log Cabin - it was nice and cozy with a stunning view. The log fire was such a lovely addition and had easy instructions on how to use - the sauna was also easy to use. The bed was super comfy, and the room was lovely and clean. ||The staff were so lovely and helpful, the food was amazing and all of the activities were well organised. We managed to see the aurora 2 nights of our stay, and the husky sledding was such a highlight! The guides for the activities were so knowledgeable and friendly. We told ourselves it was going to be a once in a life time trip but I know one day we'll be back at Wilderness Hotel Muotka as it was so amazing!

Visited in February 2024.
A wonderful stay at Wilderness Hotel Muotka! We were lucky to spot the Northern Lights during our visit, which made the experience truly magical. The hotel went the extra mile for Valentine’s Day, with lovely decorations and a special dinner that made the occasion feel even more memorable. My room had a private sauna—a fantastic bonus after a day in the snow. Interestingly, my friend booked the same room type but didn’t get a sauna, so it seems worth double-checking when reserving.

Tip: Arrive early so you have time to explore the surroundings and figure out the best vantage points for aurora photography. Some spots offer clearer views with less light pollution, and it helps to be prepared when the lights appear suddenly.

Tutto fantastico, attività eccellenti. Un consiglio: durante la ciaspolata non mettetevi la tuta polare (parlo a marzo). Anche se la camera era un po' troppo calda, era piacevole. Il cibo buonissimo, soprattutto le lasagne (anche se ovviamente non sono quelle italiane ma sono buonissime), da evitare la pasta|| Everything was great, excellent activities. A tip: during the snowshoeing, don't wear a polar suit (I'm talking about March). Even if the room was a bit too warm, it was pleasant. The food was very good, but the pasta was terrible.
